Paul and his team are incredibly professional, not your average electricians. They stuck to quotes and commitments and worked well with the other tradespeople working on the renovation making the project run as smoothly as possible. Even the building inspector complimented the great and considerate job they did!”
Adam Petros, Managing Director at Premier Health Products Ltd
In 2019, Coventry-based nutraceutical specialists, Premier Health Products Ltd (PHP) had outgrown their premises and set out plans to move to a larger space. Originally employing Switched On Electrical (SOE) to just upgrade the lighting systems in the offices and factory, it became clear that they could do so much more, and all in line with PHP’s carbonsaving goals. The work delivered by SOE resulted in PHP not only reaching their carbon saving target of 60 tons per year but exceeding this by 15% and achieving 68.8 tons per year.
PHP Managing Director, Adam Petros had successfully applied for the grant of £50,000 from The Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme. This is open to businesses able to present evidence-based action plans for improving their yearly net carbon footprint. After commissioning a comprehensive environmental audit of the new premises, Adam was able to formulate an innovative carbon saving plan that required the installation of energy efficient LED lighting across the entire site, Hot air heaters & thermal destratification fans, heat pump air conditioning units, installation of an energy efficient boiler system, and two electrical vehicle charging points. Due to Paul and the team’s expertise, proactive working style and professional attitude, Adam asked them to stay on for a further 12 months during COVID to complete the work.
Having noticed an increasing demand and need for companies to save carbon, Paul worked with the Alternative Raw Materials with Low Impact Project and the University of Birmingham. He invested in the knowledge and research to effectively support companies reach their carbon saving targets. Taking the time to have his work evaluated by academics at the University of Birmingham allows him to offer his customers a uniquely conscientious and well-rounded electrical service
Installing these high-quality LED lighting and sensors has reduced the energy consumption by more than half compared to the original lighting. The job evolved and we worked closely with Adam to advise on the best solutions for future expansion and flexibility to move production around.
