They’re fantastic. There was at least one person on hand for the entirety of the project, and on busier days the whole team would attend. They were flexible and worked around us... They were very reactive – came straight away. It meant there was no downtime allowing us to move all the equipment into the new plot in half a day, and we were back up and running the next day
Matthew Commander, Managing Director at Smartcom Solutions Ltd
When precision sheet metal specialists, Smartcom Solutions Ltd (SS) found themselves in need of a bigger space, they enlisted the support of Paul, CEO of Switched On Electrical (SOE) who saved them time and money without having to sacrifice on quality.
To home their continually growing business, Managing Director, Matthew Commander decided to demolish an existing building to allow them to rebuild a manufacturing space that will fit their needs perfectly. This was a large project that required electrical support at several stages. Paul and his team supported with the removal of the electrics before demolishing, installing essential electrics mid-way through to allow further work to be completed and installing all machinery as soon as possible to allow Smartcom to return to work with no delays.
Paul worked closely with Matthew to design a careful and considerate electrical plan for the newly renovated space. He liaised with Western Power and Matthew to agree a cost-effective solution for the incoming supply and avoided a £160k new supply quote. He assessed what was necessary and what wasn’t comparing to the architect’s spec and saved SS approx. £20k.
Paul understands that time and money are two of the most important factors for a customer when making upgrades. That’s why not only is his knowledge and honest customer service valued by his customers but also his reputation for working within a schedule consistently.
Customers often know what they require but are unsure of the best way to achieve this. We gave advice to Matthew regarding flexibility for the future and provided a solution to suit. Limiting production downtime was very important to SS and we completed the installation with the minimum of disruption and managed to get all the machines moved and working within 24 hours. During this time, we upgraded the original factory mains and distribution boards to bring them up to date.
